According to Google, most of the searches on Microsoft’s Bing search engine are about its rival Google. The lawsuit was filed in court recently after Google filed a lawsuit against the European Union (EU) for 4.3 billion euros (5 billion) in fines for abuse of market power.
The EU has accused Google of using Android’s success in the smartphone market to make Google the default search engine. But Google says its service is the most popular.
“We have provided evidence that the most common search query on Bing is Google,” lawyer Alfonso Lamadrid told the EU General Court.
“In general search, Google’s market share with consumer surveys shows that 95 percent of users prefer Google to a search engine over a competitor.”
