Which subject to study after SEE Class 10 (SLC)

It is said that SEE (formerly SLC) is the main gateway to the future for every student and their parents. In fact, the SEE is the Iron Gate, and the future of the student is shaped by the way he or she studies. But now after SEE, what these students will do, what kind of subject they will do +2, is a matter of equal concern for the students and parents, in this regard, here is an attempt to give some advice and suggestions.

First of all, it seems very necessary for those students to take short courses which are also called “Bridge Course” for higher studies and to reach +2 from SSE. This will go a long way in helping the students to go to +2. Most of the time there is a gap of about 3 months for those students and doing such a bridge course seems to be a good use of time and also practice for +2. Many students have already done bridge Course. Now there is talk that the results of the SERE exam will come in a few days.

Today’s students seem to be very conscious about their career. Now they can choose +2 according to their interest for popular courses like Faculty of Science, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Humanities. But for the next high level exams like engineering, medicine, etc., it is equally important to prepare accordingly. Therefore, it is very important for the students to pay attention to the following things before proceeding after SSE.

1. The goal

is the dream of every student to become something from childhood. Most parents understand their dreams well. Therefore, one of the most important tasks of parents is to know that if their children want to study medicine, they should be enrolled in +2 science and also in biology group.

2. What is the future of the course?

Nowadays, there are many doctors and engineers. In Kathmandu alone, more than 45 engineering colleges and hospitals and nursing homes have been opened in the streets. But do all students want to be doctors and engineers? Giving this all a quick read, it seems we are pretty much in agreement that 30 to 40 percent of the students who have passed the SSE will want to pursue a new subject in medicine and engineering, and especially the new IT courses.

3. Ability

Any student who says I am studying this subject can become proficient in that subject or not – it is equally important to know this. Because in some respects the college enrolls many students with enthusiasm. However, those students are not able to study in the middle of the other course is seen to go. It is the responsibility of the colleges and such institutions to take responsibility for this. For this, apart from the entrance exam, he should also check the morale of the students.

4. Wrong concept

Some students think of doing easy and cheap course, which requires less effort and passes easily, etc. Some even say that the reason for choosing such a subject is that after completing this course, one will get great success in business. That’s why I chose that course? This is a very wrong thinking and misconception.

What subjects can be studied in Nepal after SEE Class 10 (SLC)?

A. Science Faculty

Science is the subject that most of the students choose. Only after completing this subject will they be able to do undergraduate courses like doctor and engineering. Not only that, they can go to many other fields besides doctor and engineering. Such as nursing, pilot, pharmacist etc. On top of that, the government has also paved the way for many other related courses, which has increased its craze.

For example, if a student is unable to study for a doctorate, other accredited courses such as B.Sc. Courses like Microbiology, Pharmacology, Medical Technology, Genetic Engineering, Biochemistry etc. can be read without any hesitation. There is an unprecedented demand for manpower in the market. Such as civil, computer, mechanical etc.

B. Faculty of Management

Under this faculty students acquire knowledge related to business, trade, writing. Its specialty is that it can be read in topics such as hotel management, computer science, marketing, business math, etc. Then they should have a clue as to what could be the career path for their future.

C. The Faculty of Humanities

is slightly different from the one mentioned above. This includes culture, human resources, social education, dance, music, politics, social work, development of rural areas, etc.

D. Vocational Courses

1. A-Level

This course is affiliated with the University of Cambridge in the UK. Nowadays, most of the attention seems to be on it. This is because the students will be able to study in many subjects under this course and they will also be able to get the subjects of their interest. Another feature is that any student can take sociology along with physics. That is, they can take any subject of any faculty as per their interest.

2. IB (International Baccalaureate)

is a non-profit organization founded in 1968 in Geneva, Switzerland. Its themes are slightly different. It teaches intercultural studies, which is of great value in the international arena.

3. Education

is a slightly different course, aimed at secondary level students. This course can be very useful for students who want to be teachers in the future. This course is jointly opened by higher secondary schools. For this, the Ministry of Education also conducts teacher training programs as per the need.

4. If you look at the field of forestry

in Nepal, it seems that foreigners understand more than Nepalis. Even though millions of dollars have been invested in the forestry, it seems that people from abroad are coming here to do research due to lack of qualifications of Nepalis. Or seems to be working on forestry. There are currently two educational institutions in Nepal that officially teach and issue accredited certificates in forestry – one in Hetanada and the other in Pokhara. By acquiring this degree you can get employment in various projects related to forestry brought by foreigners and consider that there is a dearth of skilled manpower in this field.

5. Hotel Management

Nepal is making strides in terms of tourism. For example, we are all aware that new big hotels and resorts are opening every 2-3 days for this. However, there is a severe shortage of skilled manpower required for these hotels. Colleges related to this subject are available in Nepal. Natham (Nepal Academy or Tourism and Hospitality Management) is one such college where students can study. What is its scope?

6. Sanskrit

You may be surprised to hear because where did this Sanskrit thing come from when today’s generation is moving towards technology? How is it mentioned in case of disappearance? You may not believe your brothers and sisters, there are 17 universities related to Sanskrit in Germany alone. In other words, just as the importance of this subject has decreased in Nepal, the same subject has reached the sky in countries outside Nepal. In some foreign countries this subject is being studied and after it has been proved that some foreign languages have come from Sanskrit, huge investment has been made in it. Research is being done on this subject with huge investment.

There is no doubt that all these researches will make Nepal their destination in the days to come. Assuming that Nepal is the main source, they are almost certain to do the same in the future. From this perspective, far-reaching opportunities can be explored by acquiring knowledge in this language. There is a Nepal Sanskrit University in Nepal where all the studies related to Shastra and Sanskrit are done. Please consider this once.

7. CTEVT COURSES

The Council has been established with the objective of supporting courses under CTEVT

mainly for domestic and small-scale industries. Recently, domestic businesses have flourished in Nepal. In order to support such industries, especially for the poor and middle-class families, such courses are officially taught by CTEVT.

It is natural for many students in our society, which is still dominated by poor and middle class families, to be confused about whether or not to study this subject. However, given the increasing foreign investment in the country, there is a strong possibility of big industries coming at a time of political stability. Some have even begun.

At that time, according to the government’s policy of self-employment, only the qualified and skilled manpower in the country can get the opportunity. Only then will it be known what its value is. So doing this course is not in vain.

8. Polytechnic

Polytechnic courses run by CTEVT have the same scope in the future as mentioned above. At present, there are five polytechnic-related institutions in 5 development regions. Courses ranging from general medical knowledge to pharmacy etc. are conducted in it. With the opening of medical colleges, clinics, nursing homes, etc., this course is sure to play a small but costly role. Not only the need for such manpower, it is almost certain to become inevitable.

In addition, there are many institutes that offer courses at various levels to obtain a computer degree.

Conclusion

It is worth mentioning here that before rushing to any subject, it is necessary to take the right advice from an expert and understand the importance of that subject and how much it will help in future employment.
